Have you ever found yourself in that place where enough is enough!! Life is fully on top of you and it seems that the slightest mishap will have you plummeting over the edge into mind numbing, body twitching lunacy. It’s all way too hard and you can’t and don’t want to keep up anymore. You’ve lost yourself and you’ve lost your glimmer. Your capacity to function at your best in all the many and varied roles you keep has totally deserted you. Life has lost its shine and you finally KNOW the true understanding of what it feels like to exist in the ‘rat race’. What a hopeless place to be! STUCK STUCK, STUCK, POWERLESS TO MOVE. We need to pay the bills, raise the kids, keep up social commitments, get a bigger and better house, attend to our friendships, throw a bone to our significant other, keep fit, eat well, take time out for ourselves. Are you KIDDING me – Take time out for WHO? I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHO THAT IS ANYMORE.

We have ummmed and aaahed about writing this blog all week, purely because we don’t want our message to be misinterpreted.
So before we go any further let us clarify one very important fact….WE ARE NOT ANTI-VACCINE, nor are we PRO-VACCINE. We are PRO-CHOICE. What is it you want from life? Maybe a new car, maybe to win tattslotto maybe an intimate partner? For some of us the list is probably endless. If we were to have a look at our desires a little closer could it be that the things we crave and yearn for are all the symptom of wanting to be happy! We think that that new car will bring us happiness or that relationship will fill our need to be loved and again feel happy.
There’s a reason they call it the Silly Season. The festive period turns rational level headed adults into crazed gift buying machines, and it’s the time of year when any child old enough to write suddenly has the ability to write a Christmas list worthy of winning a Booker Prize.
We’ll get back to the list making later, but for now, let’s stop and think about the commercialisation of Christmas…… Have you ever desperately wanted something and found yourself willing to do and try almost anything to get it! You get that thing and then after a while the novelty wears off and you lose interest……. or become matter of fact about it.
I think most of us can probably hold our hand up to this experience, whether it be a new car, job, friend or relationship we eventually find ourselves in the reality of the comfort zone. One of life’s paradoxes is that we at one time or another want to be in the comfort zone and yet if we stay there for too long it can become humdrum and lifeless. “Life is your mirror – What you see as your outside. Always comes from your inside!” Unknown
…… yes I hear you - these wise and insightful words are not so easy to swallow when we find ourselves confronted with a situation that completely rocks our world! So how about we start of by taking a few little baby steps into this reasoning and see how we go. On Facey and feeling guilty about all the other things you could be doing right now? Never fear you are not alone! Almost all of us seem to experience feeling guilty about taking time out…. whether it be on Facebook, delving into a novel, having an afternoon nap or just chilling on the couch for a movie… it seems that we like to beat up on ourselves for taking a few well deserved moments for “me”.
If you had only one wish what would you wish for? I remember playing this game with my brothers when I was a little girl and imagining for myself a life of wonder, magic, harmony and abundance…. and at times that my brothers would turn into toads ;).
