My Orienting Philosophy
"I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness the astonishing light of your own being."
-Hafiz 14C Persian poet
As many great thinkers such as Hafiz have noted, life is difficult. Human life is filled with uncertainty, complexity, and challenges lived within a framework of mystery. Few can answer the question, “Who am I?” or “Why am I here?” It is questions such as these which motivate both my professional work and my personal life - to experience and understand oneself, one’s life, and one’s place in the world as fully as possible.
Through understanding gained from extensive study and years of experience as a psychologist, I know that even coming from a background of childhood trauma or significant loss, it is possible to find direction, meaning and purpose in life.
