Kara is a qualified psychotherapist counsellor who is passionate about helping her clients finally
understand and change lifelong negative patterns. As a therapist, she is warm, non-judgemental and brings a wealth of lived experience, retraining as a therapist after becoming a mother. Her work incorporates a range of interventions including psychosocial education, which involves learning about how our brain/body works, why it behaves like it does, and easy to implement actions to help. This is combined with other modalities such as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to access deep seated pain and emotional wounds and heal them as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS) to understand the competing and conflicting parts of ourselves. Kara works with the philosophy that therapy is the meeting of two experts; A combination of her wealth of knowledge of mental health, relationships, emotions and psychological interventions and your knowledge of your experiences, identity, personality, and unique history. She truly believes that when we collaborate and share our expertise, incredible change and healing will happen.
